Good morning skiers! We have 2" of new snow this morning and it is currently 31 degrees and snowing at 8:30 AM. We delayed grooming this morning based on the NOAA hourly forecast that called for snow accumulation early this morning. Grooming started at 6 AM and was completed at 8:30 AM. It was Ginzu groomed due to the lack of snow depth. Classic set from just past the Hitching Post at Mt. Springs north to Thousand Trails. Classic in the Meadow Loop was left from yesterday as we didn't have quite enough coverage there to set new. We will evaluate it more this morning to see what may be possible. Otherwise, everything south of Mt. Springs has fresh skate grooming including Rowdy Coyote, Meadow Loop, Sprint Loop and Mill Hill.
At US Senior Nationals yesterday, we had three youth skiers racing. The Plain Valley Nordic Team brought home 2nd, 7th, and 8th place finishes in the 10 K classic race. The next race is Thursday with a skate sprint event scheduled. Good job Caroline, Addie, and Silas!!!
