Groomer’s Report - Tuesday 3/7/23

Good morning skiers! This morning we have 30 degrees at 9 AM, a trace of new snow, and snow flurries. The low was 27 and yesterday's high was 38. We have fresh skate grooming on all trails this morning and classic was left from yesterday. Skating on the Meadow Loops, Sprint Loop and the BCT between Plain and Mt. Springs looks very firm (and therefore fast) this morning. Today's picture is from the start of the Beaver Creek Trail looking south.

TRAIL RE-ROUTE - BEAVER CREEK TRAIL AT MT. SPRINGS - Each spring the Yakima Indians plant fish in a pond just north of Hot Tub Hill. To get to the pond with their large truck they have to plow the ski trail down to dirt in that area. As horse sleigh rides are done for the year, we have permission to route the trail over the horse bridge, connecting back to the BCT just past the Hitching Post area. Win-win!!!

TRAIL CLOSURE - SOUTH SIDE GRIZZLY MOUNTAIN - We have a growing melt out on the south side so we have decided to close that side. You can still ski to the summit viewpoint from the north side trail (original route).

Still great skiing and the trails are very firm this morning. Skate would be my choice today!

Today's groomers were Caleb, Jason, and myself.

Have fun and enjoy this extended season - four months and counting!!!
