Groomer’s Report - Sunday, 3/10/24, closing day

Good morning skiers! On this last day of ski trails we have 30 degrees at 8 AM. The overnight low was 29, and yesterday's high was 45. We have 1/2" of new snow and light flurries. We have fresh skate grooming set with the Ginzu's and classic was left from yesterday. The skating looks really good this morning. Classic tracks and good in many places and thinner under trees. Today's picture is near Thousand Trails on the Beaver Creek Trail.

TRAILHEAD & PARKING CLOSURE: THE BEAVER CREEK TRAILHEAD AND PARKING IS CLOSED FOR THE SEASON DUE TO A VERY MUDDY AND SOFT PARKING LOT. Use the Clear Creek Trailhead as an option.

US Junior Nationals racing starts on Monday in Lake Placid, New York. Here's the link to track the schedule and results. Monday's race will be distance freestyle (aka skate), individual start. The hardest format for a skier in my opinion as you can't see mid-race how you are doing since everyone started at different times (30 second time gap between each skier). Tuesday is a rest day and then Wednesday is the classic sprint race. https://mtvanhoevenberg.com/event/xc2024lakeplacid/

Grooming today by Rob D and Jason. We are planing a groomer's appreciation party in the near future! Stay tuned for details.

Have fun out there!
