Groomer’s Report - Sunday 2/25/24

Good morning skiers! We have groomed fresh skate and classic on the south-end trails between Meadow Loop Trailhead and Mt. Springs Lodge.

Rowdy Coyote and part way up Mill Hill have fresh skate. There are some melt outs on Rowdy Coyote, you will need to walk a couple of short sections if you want to ski it.

Hot Tub Hill and the Hitching Post have multiple melt outs. If you are up for a little walk through this section, once past the Hitching Post, you are still able to get up valley where conditions are much better!

The BCT between Hitching Post and north to Clear Creek Lodge have fresh skate, including Swamp Creek and Grizzly Mountain. Fresh classics was set from the Hitching Post, up through Stonewater Loop and all the way out to the road crossing. Beyond the road crossing to Clear Creek Lodge the classic from previous grooms is holding up.

Griz is melting out again on the climb but is still snow covered for now.

Warm temps and wind again last night with a low of 34, warming into the low 40's by 8 AM. Classic will be best today, and the earlier the better.

ROWDY COYOTE IS GETTING ICY NEAR THE TOP OF HOT TUB HILL SO USE CAUTION. THE NORTH SIDE OF HOT TUB HILL IS ALSO GETTING ICY. CONSIDER WALKING THOSE SECTIONS.

TRAILHEAD CLOSURE - BEAVER CREEK TRAILHEAD AND PARKING: The parking lot is very muddy so this lot is closed for the season. Use Clear Creek as an alternative.

THE MEADOW LOOP TRAIL HEAD PARKING LOT IS VERY MUDDY. If you have a low clearance vehicle consider parking at Plain Hardware.

In general, good coverage in the open meadow/field areas. There is less coverage and getting icy and dirty under trees.

Grooming last night by Jason and Rob D.

Have fun out there!
