Groomer’s Report - SUNday, 1/22/23

Good morning skiers! The sun is out in a big way today! It is currently 30 degrees at 10 AM. The low was 18 and yesterday's high was 33. We had 3" of new snow yesterday and overnight. Today's picture is from the Meadow Loop earlier today. Fresh skate and classic on the Meadow Loops, Sprint Loop, and the BCT from Plain to Mt. Springs. Most trails have fresh skate grooming, and some classic grooming. Great conditions today! My choice today would be skate!

Our PVNT junior's had another great day of racing yesterday at Soldier Hollow, Utah, site of the 2002 Winter Olympics. Most notable was our second podium finish of the weekend with our U16 boys taking 3rd place, and our U16 girls taking 9th and 10th. It was a 5 K classic for the U16's. Our team is on the way home today. Locally, there is a Washington Nordic Cup race in Leavenworth at the Golf Course, hosted by Leavenworth Winter Sports Club. A busy weekend for the team (and coaches)!

Snowshoe trails are open and lots are plowed. Trail passes are required and can be purchased online at www.skiplain.com or in person at Plain Hardware. XC ski packages and snowshoes are also avaliable to rent at Plain Hardware.

Have fun today!!!
