Groomer’s Report - Sunday 1/15/23

Good morning skiers! This morning we have 33 degrees after a low of 32. Yesterday's high was 36. No new snow. We have fresh skate grooming on all trails today including Mill Hill and Grizzly Mountain. A mix of trails saw new classic. Overall, the trails are holding very well and are skiing well.

Sprint Loop will be closed today for a youth race (www.wncup.org). This is race #2 of the Washington Nordic Cup Series. This series is designed to introduce young skiers to the fun of racing. Today's course on the Sprint Loop is called a "Skiercross" which means there will be lots of bumps, jumps, steep drops, and tight turns, which they will be skiing with their skinny skate skis! Spectators welcome! These will be mass start races so lots of thrills and spills!

Parking will be congested in Plain but we have doubled the size of the lot in Plain and have instituted an "angle in" parking scheme to allow better access for more cars. Consider using one the trailheads to the north of Plain if it gets too congested in Plain.

Snowshoe trails are open and lots are plowed (but getting soft in the afternoons - use caution).

Have fun out there!
