Good morning skiers! Yesterday was the best skiing day of the year and today willl be even better. All trails are groomed today with fresh skate and classic was left from yesterday and is in great shape. The overnight low was a chilly 11 and yesterday's high was 34. It is currently 13 degrees at 8:30 with sunny skies, no new snow. We have farmed snow into the Hitching Post area so coverage is good (but no classic for about 200' in that section). The climb on Grizzly now has a small meltout that will require you to remove your skis and walk about 10'. Overall conditions today will be firm and fast, skate or classic.
We have re-opened the Beaver Creek Trailhead just north of Stonewater. It was muddy but with the low temps it should hold up for the busy weekend.
The Junior Nordic Team (aka PVNT) is racing this weekend in the years final qualifying race for US Junior Nationals! The National team will be named on Sunday, with US Junior Nationals being held in Lake Placid, New York, in mid-March.
PVNT is committed to removing barriers and seeks to provide opportunities that are equally accessible to all our skiers. PVNT skiers needing assistance will be receiving scholarships from our 2024 PVNT Junior National fundraiser.
