Groomer’s Report - Monday, New Years Day!

Happy New Years skiers! Today we have freshly groomed skate on all trails (except top of Chainsaw Ridge/Cougar Run). Classic was left from yesterday and is in good shape. The snow stayed frozen all day yesterday. We currently have snow flurries and 29 degrees. The low was 29 and yesterday's high was 35. Only a slight trace of new. Ginzu grooming today as the coverage is thin in spots and the PB100 snowcat is too rough on the thin spots. Areas to watch for are Hot Tub Hill and the Hitching Post. Also, the climb up Grizzly Mountain has a small melted out spot but is still skiable. Low snow conditions exist in a few spots but generally we have great coverage on 98% of the trail system. Do take care on all road/trail intersections as other user groups have kicked up some mud. It was super fun and fast skiing yesterday and we should have more of the same today. Groomer's choice today is skate! Grooming started at 6 PM and was complete by 9 PM, giving the snow lots of time to set up. Today's picture is near Grizzly Mountain on the Beaver Creek Trail. The best snow and coverage is north of Mt. Springs, so consider using the Beaver Creek or Clear Creek Trailheads.

Trail passes are required and can be purchased at Plain Hardware www.plainhardware.com or online at www.SkiPlain.com.

XC ski and snowshoe rentals are avalaible at Plain Hardware, as well as a full line and service XC Nordic shop. Ready for a hot wax?

Rob W and Jason were today's groomers.

Have fun out there!
