Another beautiful morning with 1-2” of fresh snow. This is what winter is supposed to be like.
Grooming with the Ginzu’s happened this morning with temps just below freezing. Fresh skate everywhere on our open trails South of Mountain Springs Lodge along with new classic on the BCT, Meadow Loop and Sprint Loop.
From Mountain Springs Lodge north, new classic was set where possible with mixed results. Under the trees are still thin and icy, but a lot of the tracks in the open areas look really nice. Fresh skate was set on everything and should be great skiing before it warms up too much.
All 3 trailheads are open and just a reminder that our northern most trailhead is at Osprey Lodge Trailhead at the 1000 Trails main entrance. (No longer the Clear Creek Trailhead). As always, use caution in the parking lots as there could be ice (Micro Spikes recommended) and as temps warm up things could get slushy (4wd recommended).
Disclaimer: Our Nordic Pulse map is a work in progress as we are still coordinating the GPS tracking to align with the actual trails, but all trails are currently open except for Cougar Run, Chainsaw Ridge and Lumi Lane.
