Groomer's Report... 1/2/2025

Day 2 into our new year and we have temps right at the freezing mark with overcast skies and even some low lying fog. The good news is that there is a Winter Weather Advisory on the way for tomorrow and tomorrow night that should bring us some fresh snow, which means that today is a great day to get out and ski and prep for our 5th annual Tour De Plain Series which starts tomorrow. Click the link for more info.

Last night the Mill Hill Complex and BCT from Mountain Springs Lodge to the Beaver Creek Trailhead were groomed with a Ginzu with an attempt to set new classic on the BCT gaining mixed results. Still low coverage areas on Cougar Run, lower Chainsaw Ridge and the hitching post, but still enough coverage to get around them.

This morning, the SnoCat did its 'usual' round of Meadow Loop, the BCT out to Mountain Springs and Sprint Loop freshing up the skate lanes and classic where able. And up north, a Ginzu was used to smooth out the skate lanes on everything including Grizzly Mountain, Clear Creek Loop and Swamp Creek Loop. Use caution on the trails through the trees as there are still thin and icy spots, but trails in the open areas should provide great skiing.

All 3 trailheads are open and as always, use caution in the parking lots as there could be ice (Micro Spikes recommended) and can be quite slushy as temps warm up (4wd recommended).

Disclaimer: Our Nordic Pulse map is a work in progress as we are still coordinating the GPS tracking to align with the actual trails, but all trails are currently open.
