Day 2 of Martin Luther King Weekend and it's going to be another great day to get out there and enjoy the sun. Temperatures are favorable for the trails and were down around 10 degrees last night, so skiing should be firm and fast again.
The SnoCat did a majority of the grooming on the whole trail system and set fresh skate and classic on Meadow Loop, Sprint Loop, the BCT out to Mountain Springs Lodge, from just past the hitching post up to Stonewater Loop where classic was left from yesterday and then picked back up at the Beaver Creek Trailhead and setting fresh skate and classic all the way out to the Clear Creek Turnaround on everything except Grizzly Mtn. which just got skate.
The Ginzu did some skate touch up on Mill Hill, Rowdy Coyote, and the BCT between Hot Tub Hill and just past the hitching post. The roughest spots are the Rowdy Coyote Cut-off at the top of Hot Tub Hill and the lower entrance of Rowdy Coyote where the trail is very thin and showing some bare spots. (Cougar Run, Chainsaw Ridge and Lumi Lane are still closed until we get more snow.)
Use caution in all of the parking lots as it will be icy and micro spikes are definitely recommended.
