Another night where temperatures got down to 20 degrees!! We've got to celebrate the little victories when it comes to the weather. Trails should again be great for skiing and be solid and fast this morning.
The southern section of trails all had the skate lanes freshened up with a Ginzu including the Mill Hill Complex, Meadow Loop, Sprint Loop and the Beaver Creek Trail all the way out to Stonewater Loop. (The bare spots on Cougar Run have spread to cover the whole trail, so we have temporarily closed it as seen on the map.) Also use caution on the BCT as it goes through the hitching post area of Mountain Springs Lodge as there are a few bare spots showing that can be skied around.
The Beaver Creek Trail north of Stonewater Loop got fresh classic and skate all the way to the Clear Creek Turnaround and fresh skate on Swamp Creek Loop. There are still a few thin/icy spots under the trees, but skiing should still be really nice today. Get out there and enjoy the colder temps.
All 3 trailheads are open but could be icy this morning so micro spikes are recommended. The Beaver Creek Trailhead parking lot has some large bare/muddy spots to avoid, not recommended for low clearance vehicles.
