Groomer's Report... 1/12/2025

Thank you to everyone that came out last night for our Moonlight X-C Ski and to all of our amazing volunteers that made it a lot of fun and a great success!  It was a beautiful night for skiing and brought people from all over.  We look forward to next year!

While we didn't get any fresh snow, we finally got some colder temps that dropped down to the mid 20's which will help keep the snow firm and should make for some fast skiing this morning before it warms up.

Down in the south sections, the SnoCat once again set some fresh skate and classic on the Meadow Loop, the Beaver Creek Trail to Mountain Springs Lodge and on Sprint Loop, even making a pass up Mill Hill, while the Ginzu was used to set fresh skate on Rowdy Coyote and Chainsaw Ridge.  Cougar Run is currently still open, but does have a couple of bare spots that can be skied around.

On the northern sections of trail, the snow was too firm to set new classic, so it has been left from yesterday, but fresh skate on everything and it should be some really good skiing today especially in the more open areas like around Osprey Lodge, Swamp Creek Loop and around the Beaver Creek Trailhead to Stonewater Loop.  Use caution through the trees as the trail could be thin and icy, especially through the hitching post area at Mountain Springs Lodge.

All 3 trailheads are open but could be a little icy this morning and then slushy as the day warms up.  The Beaver Creek Trailhead parking lot has some large bare/muddy spots to avoid, not recommended for low clearance vehicles.
