Good morning, skiers! Bluebird skies and fast snow greets us this morning. TODAY is the day to get out there and enjoy the skiing. We groomed last evening and let the trails set overnight and they are going to ski very well today. Yesterday’s high was 43, the overnight low was 21, and it is 24 degrees at 8:30 AM. Fresh skate and classic set on most open trails.
Open trails are Beaver Creek Trail from Mt. Springs Lodge in the south to Clear Creek Lodge in the north, Stonewater Loops, Shotgun Meadow, Swamp Creek, Grizzly Mountain, and Clear Creek Loop. Closed trails are Meadow Loop, Bev’s Loop, Sprint Loop, Cougar Run, Chainsaw Ridge, Ditch Loop, and the southern end of the Beaver Creek Trail between Plain Hardware and Mt. Springs Lodge (trails directly accessible from Plain Hardware have melted out and are closed). I recommend using Clear Creek Trailhead as the Beaver Creek Trailhead is getting very muddy on the approach road (unless you are skiing early in the morning today when the mud will be frozen at Beaver Creek Trailhead).
Driveway crossings were covered with snow last night.
Rob, Caleb, and Doug, today’s groomers.
